Jagged Edge singer Brandon Casey has had a brush with death after a car crash left him hospitalised with serious injuries.
The 48-year-old singer of the popular R&B band has said he “should be dead” after the accident left him with a broken neck, five broken ribs, a skull fracture and scalp lacerations.
Casey says he was admitted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia where he was treated in the ICU for five days.

The I Gotta Be the singer took it to his Instagram with a photo of his hospital admission form expressing his gratitude to his medical team.
“I’m so Thankful to all u ladies who took care of me who have nursed me fed me encouraged me Thankyou from the bottom of my heart the most sincere Thanku I can conjure up,” he wrote.

He continued his post by sharing the details of his injuries.
“I kno people wanna kno so here it is Broken neck 5 broken ribs skull fracture scalp lacerations and a bunch of pain all over my body but ima be good I promise yall God got me.”
He later shared a second Instagram post with a photo of the car wreck from his accident. In the image, the car is severely damaged on the driver’s side.

He prefaced by sharing that he would “never” usually “post these type (of) pictures” so as not to worry “the people who really love (him)”.
Then continued to share: “I – probably should be dead, oh except the Big fact that God does protect his flock”.
Thousands reacted to the star’s post with friends and fans sharing their well wishes for his recovery.
“Amen glad you came through champ!!! Much love,” one wrote.
“God is so good!! Sending prayers,” wrote another.

This is sadly not the first time the singer has been involved in a life-threatening car accident.
In September last year, he shared an image of a badly damaged car to Instagram.
“When u kno god got u thru it you gotta say Thanku u gotta feel gratitude not jus speak it Thanku Father I kno I wouldn’t b here without ur grace and mercy I’ll prolly never be the same but I’m so grateful I’m here Thanku Jesus,” he wrote in the caption.
