A cheeky request took an unexpected turn for Olivia Rodrigo during her first Sydney show.
The singer, who’s in Australia on her Guts World Toursays she’s “SO SORRY” after unknowingly asking a brother-sister duo to kiss while they were shown on the big screen at Qudos Arena on Thursday night.
The plot twist came during a section of the show where cameras roaming the crowd projected fans’ faces onto the ‘Guts Cam’ behind the stage.

Rodrigo, 21, made various requests, including having best friends and mother-child duos hug on screen, before asking if there were any couples in the audience.
When two attendees’ faces appeared, she remarked, “You guys are so cute! Hey, I have a really cute fun thing to ask, would you guys give us a kiss on the Guts Cam?”
Their mortification was immediate, with the male fan mouthing, ‘She’s my sister!’
“She’s your sister? Oh s—! Oh s—!” Rodrigo yelled as the crowd erupted in laughter.
“Never mind, never mind, scrap that. This is the first time! I’m actually surprised that that hasn’t happened.

“Wow, I feel really bad now, we are going to forget that ever happened!”
The brother in question, Tom Santo, shared the moment on TikTok with the text, “Olivia Rodrigo asking my sister and I to kiss was not on my 2024 bingo card.”
“Sorry to disapoint you @Olivia Rodrigo but that would have been my sister,” the caption read.

Naturally, videos of the moment have gone bonkers on social media and are making international headlines.
However, the biggest story to emerge from Rodrigo’s Aussie shows is undoubtedly the moment she fell into a ‘hole’ in the stage in Melbourne on Monday night.

Cheers turned to shocked screams as the singer suddenly dropped into the floor as she raced around the stage greeting her audience.
Luckily, she had managed to catch herself with her hands, securing them on the edge of the floor hatch that had seemingly accidentally been left open from when she had entered earlier.
Almost as quickly as she had disappeared, Rodrigo emerged on stage again, popping up from the hole and reassuring her audience.
With a smile on her face, the Filipina-American star declared, “Oh my god! That was fun, I’m OK! Sometimes there is just a hole in the stage, OK… where was I?”
