‘Really good friends’: Inside Isla Fisher’s low-key relationship with fellow Aussie star

As an actress with a packed schedule, Isla Fisher is often jetting around the world for work but sometimes she’s able to let her feet up and travel for leisure instead.

She also has plenty of celebrity friends to join her on those holidays but picking exactly who she wants to travel with is apparently no easy feat.

When 9honey Celebrity asked the Now You See Me actor which of her celebrity girlfriends she would choose to take on the ultimate girls’ trip, she was initially hesitant to answer – then one beloved Aussie name rolled effortlessly off her tongue.

“Oh god, I’ve got many. This is so unfair,” Fisher, who recently partnered with Air New Zealand, said, explaining that she didn’t want to insult anyone that she left off the list.

“But I’m really good friends with lots of Aussies,” she continued before quickly picking Aussie actress and radio presenter Kate Ritchie as one of her dream holiday companions.

The two actresses became friends as teenagers when they starred alongside each other on Home and Away. Now more than two decades and several holidays later, their friendship is still strong despite living on opposite sides of the globe.

“I love Kate Ritchie,” Fisher told 9honeyCelebrity.

Another name she quickly stumbled upon was that of British-Australian actress Naomi Watts,

“I would pick Naomi Watts, obviously,” she said.

But quickly Fisher’s mind trailed off and she decided to pivot. Instead of a girls trip, Fisher decided to remove the gender from the question and rattled off four names in quick succession.

These four are, of course, Fisher’s. Now You See Me co-stars, with whom she recently filmed the franchise’s third film, which is set to be released next year.

The actress says they’re a blast on set and would be a blast on any trip.

“They are the most fun you can ever have in the world,” she said.

While these hypothetical trips with Ritchie, Watts or the Now You See Me stars may not be on the cards any time soon, Fisher does have an exciting trip back Down Under planned for early next year.

The Aussie native says she won’t make it home for Christmas this year but will be touching down in the Sunshine State next February for her role in a new movie alongside Leslie Mann, Michelle Buteau and Anna Faris.

“I love going up north in Australia too.
