Netflix star dies aged 37 after mystery illness


spanish actor José de la Torre, known best for his role in netflix‘s toy boyhas died aged 37, just months after revealing he had a serious illness.

The star’s death was first reported by Montilla Digitalan outlet from his home town of Montilla in Spain’s Córdoba Province.

As per the New York Postthe actor died on December 5, with his funeral taking place the following day at the Parish of San Francisco Solano.

Months before his death in June, the actor had revealed that he had been diagnosed with a “serious illness”, beginning treatment that same month and retreating from the public eye and acting to fight his health battle, according to The Post,

The actor starred as Ivan in toy boya Spanish thriller series about a stripper who’s desperate to prove his innocence for a crime he didn’t commit, appearing in both seasons of the show, from 2019 to 2021.

He also acted in a number of Spanish series, including love is forever ,To love is forever, Vis a Vis: The Oasis,and Serve and protect ,Serve and Protect).

The star only made his acting debut two years before his breakthrough role in the Netflix series.

Upon the news of his death, friends and fans took to his Instagram account to leave tributes, many of them on his last post, which was uploaded in June, when he first began treatment.

The picture was of the star enjoying a trip to the Canary Islands for a five-day festival known as Desalia.

“The happiness of arriving in the Canary Islands, seeing your friends, grab a mojito and start singing until your voice breaks,” the star captioned the pictures of him shirtless and enjoying time in the sun with his friends, “That’s been Desalia 2024. “

“I can’t believe you’re gone so soon. I’m devastated by your departure. I’m sending kisses to all of your family and friends,” Spanish singer Pablo Alborán wrote.

“We’ll never forget you José. Wherever you are, I’m sure you’re wearing a Hawaiian shirt, a killer mustache, and those sunglasses like the ones we wore that day.”

“We shared very few hours, but your 37 years hurt me, how unfair life is sometimes, handsome on the outside and on the inside, your departure hurts me, it hurts me, and the pain of those who have loved you hurts me.

“I did not have time to love you, but I did have time to know you,” she continued. “Consoling your parents and your sister will be difficult, heaven awaits you with open arms, how sad, you have gone too soon, too soon.”

de la Torre is survived by his parents, Antonio de la Torre Hidalgo and Maria Jose Delgado Espejo, and his sister, Marina.
