‘Need time out to heal’: Rapper cancels previously postponed final tour


Rapper Childish Gambinoaka Donald Glover, has announced that he will be canceling his previously postponed tour after suffering from health issues.

singer and the actor posted a statement to his social media accounts, revealing that he became aware of the health issues after his show in New Orleans in September, when he went to hospital.

“After being assessed, it became clear I would not perform that night, and after more tests, I could not perform the rest of the US tour in the time asked. As of now I have surgery scheduled and need time out to heal,” he wrote.

“My path to recovery is something I need to confront seriously. With that said, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the North American tour and the UK and European dates.

“I want nothing more than to bring this show to the fans and perform. Until then, thanks for love, privacy, and support.”

This was the last tour under his Childish Gambino moniker, retiring the alter-ego after the final album. Bando Stone and the New World, which serves as the soundtrack to Glover’s upcoming film of the same name.

He was only a month into the North American tour when he announced he would be postponing his Houston show on September 9 due to an “illness”.

He then postponed the remainder of the tour, telling fans he needed ”to focus on my physical health for a few weeks.”

The rapper was also due in Australia for shows in Sydney in February.
