sarah hyland has announced that she won’t be returning to the new season of love island USA.
“Well, just got a text,” she wrote in an Instagram story Posted Thursday morning.
“I’m disappointed the news had to break this way but it is in fact true that I will not be returning to the island this summer.
“I have committed to an exciting project, that will be announced soon, that directly conflicts with the shooting dates for Love Island USA.”

She continued: “While I’m sad I can’t return, I hope to see lots of love this Summer on Peacock this upcoming season!”
The Modern Family The alum joined the show in its fourth season, and now has announced her departure after hosting seasons four and five of the dating show.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter ahead of season five’s releaseLove Island Executive producer Simon Thomas shared that it was “fantastic” having Hyland as the show’s host.
“She’s just such a natural and so likeable and, you know, I think the Islanders all look up to her as well,” he said. “So she’s been, she’s just a joy.”

Love Island USA has not confirmed who will be replacing Hyland on the show, however. TMZ reports that Ariana Madix is in talks to talk on the role.
They say that nothing is confirmed for the Vanderpump rules star but “barring any major hiccups… we’re told this is expected to be signed, sealed and delivered”.

Following the Scandoval drama, Maddix has scored herself a string of jobs, including a stint on Dancing with the Starsas well as appearing as Roxie Hart in chicago on broadway.
The reality star also appeared on the most recent season of Love Island USAto host a game all about knowing your partner’s true colors amid her split from Tom Sandoval.
