K Ansas Has been forced to cancel two shows after the ’70s Rock Band’s Frontman received worrying news,
Lead Singer Ronnie Plat – Who Took Over from Steve Walsh after he retired in 2014 – has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.
“For all of you asking, tUsday I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer but before everyone gets all excited, it has a 99 per cent survival rate, it has not spores,” Plat Spread on His Facebook page This week, revaling he has to undergo treatment.

“It’s contained to my thyroid. I just have to have my thyroid removed. Go through some rehab time and be right back in the saddle,” Plat, 64, Continued.

Days Later, Kansas confirmed they had to cancel two upcoming shows due to platt’s diagnosis and treatment.
“Due to band illness and doctor advisement, the upcoming kansas show on saturday, March 1, 2025, in lake charles, la has been canceled,” Kansas Wrote on Instagram AlongSide an apology.
“The band apologies for the increase and hopes to be back on the road song. All tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.”

Kansas is currently in the middle of their 50th anniversary tour another for one for the road, and had previous postponed their februry 14 and February 15 shows to navber
Manager jr rees has since confirmed to Ultimate Classic Rock That the band will be putting a Pause on all shows in the forestable future to support their frontman.
Rees said: “Our goal is to be back on the road as soon as possible. Right now, we’re all focused on supporting ronnie through this.”
