Google Chrome unveils new features for Android, iOS users – Check full details


Google Chrome has launched five new features for Android and iOS systems that are supposed to offer an improved search experience to users across smartphone devices and tabs. The popular web browser has recently rolled out various new features such as “Listen to this Page” and “Minimized Custom Tabs” which are recent additions to it.

Now, Google has introduced more Chrome actions for search inquiries, a remodelled search bar for select devices, new shortcut ideas, and more. New features allow more Chrome Actions for local search queries. While searching queries for local businesses, like information regarding a nearby restaurant, users will now have three new selections- Call, Directions, and Reviews. This feature is already available on the Android platform and soon it will be accessible on the iOS platform as well.

The Google Chrome address bar available on tablets has also been restyled in assent with Google’s Material You design language. While searching, the website will still be available to the user located in a new drop-down menu. It is said that Google Chrome has also enhanced its shortcut suggestions considering users’ varied typing practices. The tech giant has said that it will help users to sail across to a website depending on what they usually search to get there.

Google has also introduced Trending Searches for the iOS platform. This feature is already accessible on Android devices since 2023. Users will be able to simply click on an empty address bar to know the trending searches being listed and choosing a trending search will highlight other searches linked to that subject. Google Chrome has also launched live sports cards on the Discover feed, which will help users receive automatic updates and know how their favourite sports teams are performing if earlier they have searched for the same. As per the report, this feature can also be modified by navigating to the three-dot menu.
