‘Friends to enemies’: Chris Hemsworth’s relatable family admission

Chris Hemsworth is no stranger to wading into conflict on-screen – he has, after all, played Thorgod of thunder, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the last 13 years.

But when it comes to conflict between his rambunctious children at home, it’s fair to say he runs the other way.

”They’re constantly going from friends to enemies, you know?” Hemsworth, 41, tells 9honey Celebrity in Sydney at the Australian premiere of Transformers One after a brief chuckle.

“It’s kind of what siblings do. It’s pretty similar to how it was in my household (growing up),” Hemsworth, whose older brother is Luke Hemsworth and younger brother is the hunger games Liam Hemsworthcontinues.

“As long as they end up back friends then, you know, you gotta kind of give it space.”

“I mean, you try and tell your own kids what to do with any authority in my house and they kind of go, ‘Yeah. Cool. See ya’,” he adds with a grin, gesturing to where the door is.

Sweet way Luke Hemsworth looked out for brothers at school

The 41-year-old Melbourne-born father-of-three shares 12-year-old daughter India Rose and 10-year-old twin sons Sasha and Tristan with wife Elsa Pataky,

He is the voice of Optimus Prime in the animated film, which explores how the Autobots and franchise villain Megatron (Brian Tyree Henry) went from brothers-in-arms to sworn enemies.

While we ultimately know that the duo never reconcile, Hemsworth has a trick up his sleeve to ensure the same never happens to his kids: preventing the conflict from happening in the first place.

“We’re just trying to keep our kids active,” he explains.

“They’re nicer to each other when they’re having fun and having a good time and outdoors and surfing and fishing and doing stuff,” Hemsworth explains.
