Dyson Airstrait Straightener Launched in India: Dyson has launched a new hair straightener in the Indian market – the Airstrait – on Thursday, July 4. This cutting-edge device offers a wet-to-dry hair straightening experience using air, eliminating the need for hot plates and significantly reducing heat damage . The price of the newly launched straightener is Rs 45,900.
The Dyson Airstrait straightener is available in two colour options – Prussian Blue and Bright Nickel Copper and can be purchased from Dyson demo stores, dyson.in, or the Mydyson App.
Talking about the product, the Founder and Chief Engineer of Dyson, James Dyson said “Having a strong understanding of how to manipulate and realise the potential of powerful airflow is fundamental to the performance of the Dyson Airstrait™ straightener.”
“This expertise, which we’ve gained over the last 25 years, is what has enabled us to deliver our first wet to dry straightener, with no hot plates, and no heat damage,” he added.
Dyson Airstrait: Advanced Technology for All Hair Types
The device employs two arms that direct a high-pressure blade of air downwards into the hair, drying and straightening simultaneously.
Dyson Airstrait: Intelligent Heat Control and Versatile Styling Modes
The Airstrait straightener features intelligent heat control with glass bead thermistors measuring airflow temperature 16 times per second, and the company claims that it prevents excessive heat and protects hair’s natural shine. The device offers ‘Wet’ and ‘Dry’ styling modes with various heat settings and a ‘Cool’ mode to set styles. It also includes low and high airflow speed settings, a cold shot, and a root drying mode.
Dyson Airstrait: Innovative Airflow Mechanics
The straightener features two 1.5mm apertures along its arms, through which airflow is accelerated to create high-velocity air blades. These air blades, projected at a 45° angle, converge to form a focused jet that straightens hair with precision and control.
Dyson Airstrait: Powerful Dyson Hyperdymium Motor
The heart of the Airstrait is the Hyperdymium motor, a small yet powerful unit that generates the necessary airflow to dry and straighten hair from wet. This 13-blade impeller motor spins at up to 106,000rpm, moving over 11.9 litres of air per second and generating up to 3.5kPa of air pressure.
