Ayushman Bharat Health Cards: Google Wallet to provide access to ABHA ID cards – Check details

A new report reveals that more than 600 million Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID holders will have the option to access their digital health cards, which are to be introduced in 2025 via Google Wallet. The tech giant Google has joined hands with Eka Care, which is an accredited issuer of ABHA IDs, to add these health cards to Google Wallet. The officials have announced this move during a Google event recently. This announcement is considered a major step in India’s digital healthcare network.

ABHA IDs are a crucial part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), which aims at digitizing healthcare services across the country. These IDs will let users accumulate and manage their health data like prescriptions, and lab reports, and they will be able to share their health details with contributing healthcare providers. With this move, ABHA ID holders will be able to view their health cards on smartphone devices. To access ABHA health cards, users will need authentication via a pin, a fingerprint, or a passcode on Google Wallet, which adds an extra layer of security and protects users’ privacy.

Furthermore, the tech giant Google has also collaborated with multiple healthcare providers across the country to develop more than 800 health Knowledge Panels on Search, which are accessible in two languages English and Hindi. As per the officials of Google, these health Knowledge Panels cover essential health issues, such as cancer, diabetes, and mental health disorders like anxiety, dementia, and depression.

Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) is a digital health ID, which consists of a 14-digit unique code. This ID recognizes each user as a contributor to India’s digital healthcare ecosystem that is acknowledged by healthcare providers functioning across India.
