Mike Heslin died at age 30 on July 2 due to an unexpected cardiac event, according to his husband.
The promising actor – who is known for his recent roles in Lioness and The Holiday Proposal Plan, and Prime Video series The Influencerswhich he created, wrote, directed and performed in himself – suffered a week-long battle in hospital following a cardiac event before passing away, his husband, musical artist Scotty Dynamo, said.
Dynamo paid tribute to his late “husband, best friend, and soulmate” on Instagramadding that “Michael was young, in perfect health, and the doctors have no explanation for what happened”.

Dynamo, whose real name is Nicolas James Wilson, went on to praise his partner for being a “brilliant, selfless, talented, and a real-life guardian angel” who “single-handedly carried me through multiple rounds of cancer”.
“No matter how difficult things got, we knew that there was nothing we couldn’t overcome with Mike in our corner.”
Dynamo was with Heslin when he died, sharing, “When I felt you take your last breath, my heart shattered into a million pieces. If I had the power to trade places with you, I would do it in an instant. But I will take it one day at a time like you always told me to, and live every day in your honor.”

The couple was also planning to start a family, nine months after their November 2023 wedding.
“Just a week ago, we were in the early stages of starting a family and would regularly share our favorite baby names for our future kids. You always told me that you felt like you were meant to be a dad, and I couldn’t agree more,” Dynamo wrote.
The musician also shared Heslin’s generous act, even in death.
“It brings me peace to know that, through your wish to be a donor, you have given the gift of life to four different families.
“We are 3 weeks away from your birthday and 4 months shy of our 1 year wedding anniversary, but I know that you are in a better place and that heaven has gained another angel.”

In addition to Dynamo, Heslin is survived by his parents John and Geriann and siblings Andrew, Timothy, and Anna. The actor also had a brother, Robert, who also died unexpectedly at the age of 30 in March last year.

“Nic, I am so sorry. Between your cancer journey and Mike’s sudden passing, you’ve been through an unbelievable amount of health misfortune for such a young age. Wishing you strength,” wrote one friend.
“I couldn’t believe this when I saw it. I am truly sorry for your loss 🥺. Mike was still so young and watching you both on YouTube and TikTok might just have been a piece of both your lives but it was always clear to see that what you both had was something bigger and so special that it really breaks my heart to know that this has happened,” wrote a fan.
