Paloma Faith has revealed the candid reason behind her 2023 split fromLeyman Lahcine after nearly a decade together.
Speaking to the independent, the singer, 42, admitted having children led to the breakdown of their relationship.
“People always ask, what did you do? What did he do? But it was a fundamental breakdown that we were both in control of saving or letting go,” she told the publication.

“You either grow together, adapting to one another like expandable foam and filling the gaps where it’s empty – or one person grows and the other stays the same,” she added.
“And I think for me, becoming a mother was such a massively life-changing experience that for the first time in my life, I needed more than nothing – and the expandable foam just wasn’t there.”
“Our relationship ended because we have those children. And I think that was worth it,” she said, later adding the split had “left me broken but in other ways, I’m so whole.”

Faith and Lahcine share two daughters together. They welcomed their first child in 2016 and their second a few years later in 2021.
The How You Leave A Man singer, who had been reportedly married to Lahcine since 2017, confirmed the couple had split with a social media post in August 2023.
In her Instagram postwhich featured a cheeky bikini snap, the singer appeared to confirm her relationship status with #singlemum in her caption.

A couple of months after their separation, the singer addressed the shock split and seemed to confirm her estranged husband had been unfaithful to her after cheating rumours.
speaking to The Sun in October 2023, Faith alluded to the breakup by claiming she will “never be perfect so if that’s what you want, go find someone else that you’ll cheat on.”
In January, the singer revealed the tracklist for her highly anticipated sixth studio album, The Glorification of Sadnesswhich will explore her ‘grief’.
“This album takes you through the stages of grief involved in a huge loss. It’s about empowerment, sadness, tragedy, rage, hope and joy,” she wrote to Instagram,
“It’s scary for me to put it out there as it’s still sore.”
