Green Day rushed off stage by security mid-concert


Green Day have been rushed off stage in the middle of a concert.

The band were performing in Detroit on Wednesday night (Thursday in Australia) when they were swiftly escorted off stage by security,

In videos shared to social media, the band were mid-way through playing their song Longview when a security guard walked onto the stage, prompting all band members to stop mid-song and run backstage.

Entertainment Weekly reports the Detroit Police Department confirmed the disruption was due to an unauthorized drone fling over the concert venue.

Following the band’s exit, there was a moment of silence before messages on the screens read, “Show pause. Please standby for details.”

Detroit Police Department captain, Dan Donakowski told The Detroit News the police located the individual flying the drone outside the venue and that he had been “detained pending further investigation.”

The outlet reported that the band was absent for only about 10 minutes.

When they returned, lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong promptly checked in on the 35,000 fans at the event.

”How you guys doing? Everybody OK?” he said, before picking up the song Longview in the same spot they were interrupted.

The band went on to play their next song from the setlist, Welcome to Paradise, before again addressing the disruption.

“There ain’t no motherf—– that’s gonna stop us, I’ll tell you that,” Armstrong said.

Following the show, the band took to

“Detroit! Sorry for the delay in the show tonight, Stadium security had us clear the stage while they dealt with a potential safety issue,” Green Day wrote.

“DPD quickly resolved the situation, and we were able to continue. Thanks for understanding.”
