The Wiggles star reveals pregnancy after ‘challenging’ fertility journey


The Wiggles family will soon have two new exciting additions, with one of their own announcing some very special news this morning.

Caterina Mete, who was named a Red Wiggle in 2021has shared she’s pregnant with identical twin daughters, who are due in July, following a “challenging IVF journey”.

“Becoming a mother has always been a dream of mine. I feel overwhelmingly blessed to share that I am expecting two beautiful little miracles,” Mete, 43, said in a statement.

“This journey has been challenging but filled with so much love and support,” she continued.

“I am immensely grateful for the incredible team at my fertility clinic and the technology that has made this possible.

“I can’t wait to meet my twin girls and embark on this exciting new chapter of my life. I’d also like to thank everyone at The Wiggles for their unwavering support.”

Mete also explained in a video shared to The Wiggles’ official Youtube channel that her pregnancy has come after a “challenging IVF journey”, and was made possible thanks to an anonymous donor provided by her fertility clinic.

“We are overjoyed and filled with pride as we prepare to welcome two new beautiful members to The Wiggles’ family,” The Wiggles said in a statement.

“Caterina’s strength, courage, and unwavering optimism have inspired us all. We cannot wait to meet her twin girls and watch her embrace the joys of motherhood.”

Mete, who has tertiary credentials in Early Childhood Studies and began in the children’s entertainment group 20 years ago as a friend to Dorothy the Dinosaur, will continue performing and recording with The Wiggles until she goes on maternity leave later this year.

She wrote on Instagram: “I’m so excited for the adventure ahead, and I can’t wait to be a mum.”

The Wiggles’ next live shows will be their Wiggle Groove tour, which starts in Sydney on March 9.
