Chris Hemsworth recently appeared at the San Diego Comic-Con and, despite attending to promote the upcoming Transformers One animated film, many couldn’t help but talk Marvel,
During the event, Hemsworth was asked by Entertainment Weekly if he has any plans to reprise his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
“I don’t know,” he answered, smiling and stumbling over his words.

”I’ve loved every second of the Marvel experience and I’m always down to do more,” he added. “We’re all sort of waiting to hear what’s happening.”
While his response doesn’t shed much light on his future involvement with the franchise, it leaves room for hope that he may one day make a return as the beloved Asgardian.

How long has Chris Hemsworth been in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
Chris Hemsworth has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since the first Thor The film was released in 2011.
Since then, three more Thor films were released with Hemsworth making MCU history as the first hero to get a fourth solo movie in the franchise.

Outside of the solo films, Hemsworth has also made several returns to the multiverse starring inThe Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Doctor Strange, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame,
While Avengers: Endgame farewelled a number of the original Avengers, Hemsworth’s Thor has survived leaving many fans wondering if he will return in any future films.
Will there be another Marvel Thor movie?
The last Marvel film Hemsworth starred in was Thor: Love and Thunder – the fourth installment of the hero’s solo films.
While the film was a commercial success raking in more than $760 million worldwide, it’s reviews were sub par.

It has received a score of 63 percent on Rotten Tomatoes with 449 reviews, making it one of the lowest ranking Marvel films scored by the platform.
There has been no confirmation about a fifth Thor film and the poor reviews make it seem unlikely.
But anything is possible in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and if Hemsworth is still “waiting” for that phone call it can be certain that so too are his many fans.

What film is next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
While there has been no confirmation of a fifth Thor film, Marvel have announced that a fifth and sixth Avengers films are in the works.
Marvel has recently announced that the two films Avengers: Doomsday and Aavengers: secret wars can be expected in May 2026 and May 2027 respectively.
the new Avengers films will be helmed by the Russo Brothers – Joe and Anthony Russo – who also directed the previous four Avengers movies.

At San Diego’s Com-Con over the weekend, the pair revealed that they believed their time with Marvel had come to an end.
“When we directed Avengers: Endgamewe really believed it was the end for us in the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” Joe Russo told the crowd, per Variety,
“That four-movie run was incredible, and it left us creatively spent.”
Will Thor be in Avengers Five?
confirmation of the new Avengers films comes as exciting news to Marvel fans but whether Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as Thor in the upcoming films is still to be confirmed.
Hemsworth’s recent comments at San Diego’s Comic-Con leave fans in the dark as to whether he will make a return.
