Popular Aussie DJs announce huge concert to be held at Bunnings


It’s been months in the making, and now we finally have official confirmation: the Bunnings Rave is happening.

The announcement was made Thursday night when Aussie DJ duo, Peking Duck, posted a video to their TikTok account.

“The people have spoken, and Bunnings have listened,” announced Reuben Styles, one half of Peking Duk.

“We’re gonna have a rave with Bunnings but we still don’t know where, so pick a spot, pick a state, pick a Bunnings, where do you want to do this party?”

The comments section was flooded with fans requesting Bunnings stores around the country as the location, some even fighting for a Bunnings Rave tour with stops in every state.

Bunnings confirmed the news with a comment on Peking Duk’s video, writing, “We’re ready to celebrate local Aussie music at the Warehouse Party, who’s in? πŸ‘€πŸ’š”

The highly-anticipated Bunnings Rave will include a slew of Aussie musicians, with Peking Duk, What So Not, and 19-year-old up-and-coming DJ Mackenzie Collins, who goes by the stage name Kaila, all on the bill.

Discussions of a potential rave started in April when Collins posted a TikTok where he remixed the Bunnings theme song into an EDM track and the video quickly went viral.

He then jokingly posed the idea of ​​a Bunnings Rave in a follow up video

Not only did popular Aussie DJ Christopher Emerson – better known by his stage name What So Not – leave a comment in support of the idea, but Bunnings also featured in the comments section, writing, “we’ll bring the decks πŸ‘€πŸ‘€.”

Collins posted another video in response to Bunnings’ comment, and that’s when Peking Duk got involved, commenting, “Need a DJ? πŸ‘€”

The idea quickly took off, and soon garnered support from all over Australia.

Brands such as Uber, Smiths Chips, JBL, Pepsi, and Rockstar energy all reached in support of the ideaoffering help in the form of snacks, free rides, speakers, and drinks.

emerson soon took to his own social channels asking his followers to tag Bunnings and help make the Bunnings Rave a reality.

Styles and Peking Duk’s other half, Adam Hyde, later made a video dancing around Bunnings with their own remix of the theme song, alongside the caption, “remixing Bunnings until they rave with us.”

Over the months, more and more Aussie brands have come out of the woodwork in support of the movement.

Brands such as Domino’s, Chargrill Charlies, Spotify and Jetstar all left comments on related videos, with Jetstar even saying they would make the remix of their new boarding song.

The idea of ​​a Bunnings Rave garnered national attention, making headlines around the country, with Emerson, Styles and Hyde even being interviewed about the topic on national news,

It’s not quite over yet though, while we know it’s happening, no specific details have been released yet.
