Pink cancels concert hours before show due to mystery illness


Pink has been forced to cancel her upcoming show in Switzerland after contracting a mystery illness.

The singer, whose real name is Alecia Moore, took to social media to tell fans she had to cancel Wednesday’s show “after consultation with my doctor”.

“I am so sorry that I have to cancel my show in Bern this Wednesday,” she said alongside a black and white shot of her on stage.

“I do everything I can to ensure I can perform for you every night, but after consultation with my doctor and exploring all options available, I’ve been advised that I’m unable to continue with the show tomorrow.

“I was looking forward to being with you and making memories with you and sharing our show with you and am so disappointed that we have to cancel.”

While the singer never revealed if it was a common cold or something more severe keeping her off stage, she ended the message somewhat emotionally by “sending love and health to you all” and saying “I really hope to see you again soon”.

It’s not known how many upcoming European tour dates might be impacted, with the singer’s next performance due to be on Saturday in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Last weekend marked the end of her daughter Willow taking part in the Summer Carnival tour.

The 13-year-old had been joining her mum on-stage for a performance of their duet, Cover Me in the Sunshine,Since the world tour kicked off last June.

Now, she’s chosen to follow her musical theatre dreams, taking part in a production of Bye Bye Birdie,

“This weekend’s shows were Willow’s last few on tour before she takes time away to follow her dreams,” Pink wrote in a tribute to her daughter on social media.

“I promised I wouldn’t cry. I DID NOT however, promise I wouldn’t hyperventilate through our hug.

“It’s wild to watch your children grow up and out of you, but I’m beyond proud. We all are. I’m gonna miss you so much.”
